QB becomes highest-paided player in the league

New York Giants quarterback ELi Manning, signed a six year 97 million dollar contract extension during the off-season.  Manning is guaranteed 35 million and he will receive 15.3 million annually until 2015.

Because the Giants are paying top dollar to keep their quarterback on the roster, they expect big things from Manning through the next six years.

Manning pay raise also bypasses his brother Peyton Manning, the quarterback for the Colts, who earns 14.17 million annually.
